Endodontics
Endodontics is the branch of dentistry dealing with the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases of the dental pulp, usually by removal of the nerve and other tissue of the pulp cavity and its replacement with suitable filling materials, crowns etc. which is commonly known as Root Canal Treatment (RCT).
Specialist Dental Surgeons who provide these treatments are known as Endodontists & Conservative Dentists.
Indications of RCT :

With the use of Hands or Rotary Endodontic system that enables one to
complete most RCTs in a short span of time
All the procedures can be confirmed for accuracy with the help of the RVG (Radiovisuography), i.e. Digital X-Ray imaging system along with Apex Locators
The filling of the root canals after cleaning procedure with the use of Inert Sterilized Gutta Percha (GP) system which ensures complete obturation of the cleaned root canal in a three dimensional Hermetic Seal
Root Canal Treatment with the assistance of Surgical Magnification devices to ensure better visibility to the operator and thereby ensures better prognosis of the tooth treated

Laser Assisted Root Canal Treatment
Re-Root Canal Treatment — It is required when the RCT has been done elsewhere but failed or not done properly causing recurring pain and infection
RCT of medically compromised patients, viz. patients on anti-coagulants
RCT of 3rd Molar Tooth (Wisdom Tooth)
